Ok Boys & Girls,
For those that want to have a motel with dockage
call these people. right now they are about 80% booked for
April 11 & 12.
They are on the mainland side off US-1 about 3.5 miles
by water to Long Point Park. Again do not put off making
your reservations here as well. Sportsman's Motel & Marina

I will continue searching for additional locations...

I have not contacted these people, but 6.5 miles
North of the Inlet / 5.5 miles to Long Point on the
Ocean. Looks like a nice place.

Surf Caster Motel

See ya, Ken
Not sure if it's gospel but Sportsman says their dock will accept up to 21' boats.

I thought we were reserving docks - and they said "we don't have any docks" So I asked: so where are all these SeaCraft people putting their boats? "They are campsites - what do you have, an RV or a trailer?" I replied: A Suburban with a mattress, I guess... So where do I put the boat? "How big is your boat?" 23 feet. "Oh that's a big one!" I said all these boats are either 20 or 23 feet. Is this LongPoint? "You pull your boat up to the camp site"

It never occurred to me. So, let me get this strait, I drive 1317 miles (about 20 hours 35 minutes) towing a 5000 pound package and I have to put a $2,000 bottom job on the beach for 2 days and sleep in the back of my truck? Next you're going to tell me about humidity, bugs and freakin jelly fish, not to mention sun burning my butt that won't have seen the light of day in 6 months.

Anything else I should know? I'll be in "slip" 84...

Snow? or Jellyfish? Frostbite? or Sunburn? Hummmmm...
Do not forget the No-see-ums these little "Pacmen" of the
insect world will bite you till you bleed.
The mosquito's will have not reached maturity by April,
so there bite will not make you scratch as much. They will
just buzz your ears while you are trying to sleep.
Otto, you better get vaccinated to avoid malaria and diphtheria. Oh yeah do not forget to bring bottled water as drinking the saltwater will make you delirious and
become disoriented. All in all sooner or later
we will become civilized down here in the south.

Just go to Wally World and buy a $40 tent and bug spray.

Thank God the event will only be two days in the wild.

The nearest hospital is miles and miles away. A first aid kit will not be much help because it does not come with
penicillin or morphine..........

Hope this helps, we will have good time if we live through it.

You forgot about the snakes the size of logs,
raccoons as big as wolves and meaner,
red tide that will take your breath away
and fire ants that will clear the flesh from your bones.
Other than that, it's paradise.

You'll be fine Otto we have 5 months, do you have a tanning salon nearby? that could help the transition to the tropic's from the Artic Circle.

I have had several phone calls and emails from CSC members
and non members. They have taken all but two of the sites
that were left on Friday. According to one person, Long Point said site #83 is not real good for a boat. We can always saddle up on one of the others members sites. We basically have the whole point. Just by what has been reserved in campsites alone times 3 people (average per site) equals approx. 60 people !!

One other side note, I contacted Ship Shape TV.
They informed me that although the 2008 schedule is already
filled that they may make a concession.
"The G man" is to get with me next week after Thanksgiving.
Now this would be the bomb if we could convince him to do a
show there.

Plus I'm still working on the raffle. If any of you have contacts with any Marine people that may want to contribute to this worthy cause, get with me. Probably will not
start it until the first of the year.......

Lets keep it rolling.

At this point, it is tough for me to schedule that far out.
In any case I will try to stop by Sat night. If the weather is good, and the schedule frees up, I will try to drag the boat down. At worst case, I can "double up" next to another CSC boat, as long as you let the Tracker guys in.
