Pink French two-piece, cat suit and speedos with teasers !!!.......this sounds like type of boating experience I wouldn't want to miss....NOT!.... But, I'm in. So, I really expect you guys to go, wearing your typical Key largo Gathering attire.

Ole, I will definitely make the time in June, July and Aug to go with you guys. That trawler experience sounds like a great idea to me. I may even be able to arrange something and go to Cat Cay.
Do something even if its wrong

Not sure what was decided on the gathering, but I am heading across out of Stuart first week of August for some Lobster and Grouper. I will clear at Walkers (or maybe Spanish) and stay in Foxtown. I may make the same trip July 4th but not sure on that one yet.

If anyone is interested in tagging along let me know another boat or 2 is always nice, it is even better when they are Seacrafts.

This got me thinking about next summer.
I want to make the trip. Looking to go late July/early Aug. I'm spending the summer in the Keys and can Trailer to the east coast.

Any interest?

Early July may be a better choice with weather patterns.

Funny.... I just got back from a 10 day trip to the Abacos I did not get enough fishing due to the wind, and of course I was only planning 5 days but had to wait unil I could cross. Still a good time.

Now for next summer.... I always go first week in August because Lobster season opens the 1st. 2 advantages to this, the obvious lobster for dinner and snacks and the locals are all out working so less headaches.

With that, I will put a trip together for Early August next year and would be happy to have a few boats tag along. I could help with rooms as well but I do not stay in a very resort like area. I go there to fish and my focus is on that. Basically I look for a roof and a shower. Hot water is optional. There is a place to eat, a small bar, and a dock where I normally go. The town is called foxtown. There is a resort being built on one of the Keys and talking to the folks who are doing this it should be open by august so there may be a nicer place to stay in the area. Of course Green Turtle is always an option as well and a short run from Fox Town.

I can say the past 5 years I have made the crossing first week in August and have not had to adjust for weather at that time. Sept/October are not so lucky though.

They recently broke ground. It will be on Fish Cays off of Little Abaco. It looks like they will do apartments and timeshares along with some weekly and nightly rentals. There is plenty of work to be done so it will surprise me if they are ready by summer but they say it will be ready.

We will need to get in touch just before you leave, maybe we can get together for a cocktail or 2 while we are there.

I was hoping to take the trip the week of mini lobster season next July. The Keys get crazy then and I need to bailout. All I need is a roof, fresh water to bathe and drink. So, Foxtown sounds good to me! Someone to share a cold one and swap fishtails is a bonus.

As time gets closer everyone interested should firm up the plans.
