Thanks for asking. This was my first effort spraying a boat. That said, I think it came out great. I give most of the credit to the excellent and extensive prep work that Tom (SaltyDog) did thru the longest winter ever.

The bottom was prepped to 120 grit and sprayed with Interlux 2 part VC Performance white. The hull sides were sprayed with Interlux 1 part Brightside navy blue. The hull got 2 really good coats of primer, sanded to 220 then 2 coats of a different blue, didn't like that, sanded that and sprayed on 4 coats of dark blue.

The cap, gunnel and entire liner was sprayed with 2 coats of Brightside "moonglow blue white" on top of 2 coats of primer. Looks pretty cool and really satisfying.

I have taken sometime off to let the paint "cure" before wet sanding with 600 and 800, then buffing. In places the hull was a little dull with minor "orange peel". Frankly, I was waiting to get that done before posting images.

I'm going to pace myself putting back together and enjoy the experience. We're also trying to get in position to move up to a nice house in a development with a sweet private marina, where the completed SeaCraft could spend the next 10 years. That requires improvements to the house and selling our "condo", a 1995 Carver 325 Aft Cabin " Odyssey II ".

It should be an interesting summer.

To answer your question, I like the Brightside paint for what we've done so far. It was easy to handle. We thinned it 5 to 10 percent. It layed down nice and only tried to "run" if there was too much thinner or just too much paint (operator error). It's been drying for 3 or 4 weeks and I noticed that where the paint is a little heavy, a thumbnail still leaves an impression (topsides only). That can't be good. I'm leaving wet sand and buff on the hull till the very end to let it cure as long as possible. The topsides and liner look good enough to leave as-is.

Nothing to add on the paint other than is there a way that other factors, like humidity, have on curing paint?

The colors looks sweet! The electric blue from the last time looked like it was from an early 90s Mitsubishi but still lokked well done. This darker blue looks fantastic!

You and S-Dog have come along way with this project and speakinig for myself, I'm impressed!
