Need Gelcoat Advise for Nonskid Deck
Hi Guys-
I have searched the site for info on this before posting but I couldn't find quite what I was looking for, so I need to ask you all for the info... I need to put down new nonskid on the deck of my 23. I have never worked with gelcoat before, but I have been told that it would be the best way to go and really isn't too tough to work with. So far, I have buzzed the deck down really well using 80 grit on an orbital sander. My questions are: 1.) What is the best cleaner or deglosser for my deck project? 2.) Is applying the gelcoat similar to working with a polyurethane only thicker thus needing to be thinned? 3.) What material would you recommend using for the nonskid and what is the best way to apply it evenly so it isn't all globbed up? 4.) Any general advise you can offer before I begin? (Besides hire a professional?!?! ) I really would appreciate any input from the experts on this board. Many thanks, Hooper |
