Lower Unit repair??

Has anyone had experience repairing the lower unit drain plug threads? My Yami 225 apparently became slightly stripped out

. I was told it could possibly be retapped for the slightly larger omc or merc drain plug but would like some advice on this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated here.
