Live Well 23 SF I/O
I am trying to work out a live well in my Seacraft. I have a 23' SF I/O and behind the fuel tank there is a bin with a thru hull in it. It is probably 10 gallons or so. I'm debating to use that tank or the smaller ones on the transom. The transom boxes have a drain going out of the transom. They are pretty small, maybe 3 gallons.
To use the box below deck I need to have a bilge pump inside to pump out and a pump to go in. I was thinking of a combo washdown/baitwell pump. Does anyone else have this box in their boat? I don't see it on the diagram on this site. |

What we always did on my Sceptre is put an oval livewell on the transom platform (centered) - no thru-hulls and easy - never worried about leaks- all it took was wiring to a cheap livewell pump mounted to the transom bracket. Never had a problem with too much weight aft either - I think it was ~ 15-20 gal.

I have the same well in my 23. At some point in it's life, someone drilled a 1" hole down low in the aft wall so it could drain in the bilge. I hate the thing, going to be ripping it out and filling the thru hulls.

Yeah, I would much rather have the added fuel tank capacity than that thing in the floor. Since it's there now I was thinking of making it a bait tank and putting a bilge pump in it to pump out.

I have the same deck compartment. I ended up tapping into it as a seachest for a washdown pump and livewell pump. I have a livewell that is portable that I use instead of that box.
