Default Questions on 1978 23 Superfisherman rebuild

Years ago there was a thread with a picture showing the best place to cut the cap, floor, and the splash well to remove the rear boxes during a "from the inside" transom rebuild. Anyone have a link to that old thread or a good rebuild thread/photo that shows where to cut?

Also best tool to make the cuts necessary? Reciprocating sawzall (I do not own one yet)? Will a jigsaw work?

Best tool for cutting the floor out?

Will be using two layers of 3/4 marine ply for transom.

I have read where some use 1/2 inch marine ply for floor and others use 3/4 marine ply...would appreciate feedback from those that have done it on their thoughts.

1978 23 Superfisherman does the floor need to be raised? Going to use a smaller 80 gallon fuel tank and move it all the way forward to casting deck. Batteries will be in console, will run a single Suzuki 250 30 inch shaft. Scupper drains hoses will be crossed and run straight out the transom. Might run a Jackplate with a 6 inch setback (under consideration).

Also want to significantly decrease the size of the splash well (hull originally had dual engines) I would like to PM some questions to anyone running a 250 Suzuki directly on their transom (no bracket). Specially interested in some measurements to help me size the engine cutout in the transom and splash well depth.

Thanks for reading and look forward to everyone's input.

I had very good luck with one of these when did my gunnels from he top, you can adjust the depth and it cuts a curve very well, good luck!!
