Default Anyone know what kind of boat this is?

Someone offered to give me this boat today and I can’t find any info on it. Says Grumman p17=7v on a plate. It has a spot light on the front and red and blue navigation lights on the bow. Maybe a police boat? Any help would be appreciated. It had a volvo inboard in it originally I guess.

The only Grumman's I've seen were aluminum.

Looks to be 1960`s.

I`d call Grumman.

EDIT: Grumman P-17 "Sportabout" Deluxe "Volvo" Model (see bottom of post)

This seems to be similar; Does that P17 mean it's a 17' model?:

Per wiki, it's 1952 or newer based off when they were in Marathon, NY... before becoming http://www.marathonboat.com/index.asp.

I own two Grumman aluminum canoes. My best friend and his dad worked for Grumman. Was a huge employer on Long Island at one time, but mostly aerospace here.

Some historic info here:

Not sure any of these are correct, since your cap looks thicker, and these below are clearly aluminum...

...BINGO! (Grumman P-17 Sportabout 17)!
