Default EZ2CY ......

Has anyone used this on their boat ???? Talked to the rep at the boat show .... but I have a few reservations for such a small application as on a 23 CC.....I would essentially use it in place of having a new windshield made

Scott - I am assuming you have a 23 CC and are thingking of one flat panel that would go from the top of your console to the bottom of a T-Top. While I have a full eisinglass (spelling ?) enclosure on my 1978 23 Sceptre, I am looking to convert to EZ2CY. I have spent a lot of time on a Cabo 31 with a Strataglass enclosure and a Cabo 35 Flybridge with EZ2CY and there is no comparison - the EZ2CY is like looking through glass. However, downside is it is very rigid and cannot be rolled up - must be lifted or hinged in flat panel sections (though it can be formed into curved sections). Also, it is pricey. Hope this helps and good luck.

I spoke with these guys at the boat show too. He did not seem interested in enclosures for my boat (23' w/ t-top) - almost like the job was too small. If they are going to do the work, you need to bring the boat to them (unless it is a really big job) - they get $70 per hour just to drive to your boat if you don't trailer it.

Pricing was also much higher than standard clear PVC. One panel for the side of my console was going to cost me over $500 - and that was a small panel. I think they said it was about 5-6 times more expensive than the standard PVC. They have an exclusive on the use of this material for marine applications, so they charge what they want.

However, I have heard nothing but great reviews about the stuff.....if you feel like paying for it. I'll stick with the standard stuff.

Chris ....you got it ....going for the "Palm Beach" look well almost. That would afford the console and those behind it a little more protection. I was told that they can put vents in the top of the panel to allow for air flow or as you say put the "hinge" in the panel (something else in my line of site though). I saw the "demonstrator" at the show that had the curved panels but I've heard that’s even bigger money. Was also informed that they could use the current enclosure for the sides. Wasn’t given an official quote as they would need to see the boat and the application ... but it didn’t sound too cheap ….I hear you Eric!!! But the clarity of it is incredible and if I did this I would leave the windshield off for a cleaner look.
