Question regarding twins removal
I'm in the process of preparing to pull the twin Rudes of the back of my 79 23. The upper ening mounting bolts are easy to access and the lower outboard (direction, not motor style ) bolts are also easy. The question I have is for the inboard lower mount bolts. Do those run thru the transom and into the baitwell under the motorwell? I SHOULD be able to tell but right now instead of a 40 gallon baitwell I have a 40 Gallon block of ice in there and its not translucent enough to see
Thanks!

Re: Question regarding twins removal
John the lower bolts should be accessible through your bilge. Not sure of your exact set-up, though.
However, I want to b*$#ch slap you for letting your sweet boat fill up with ice. You must be itching to put in a new floor, transom and stringers. |

John
The lower bolts do go thru the baitwell When you remount (if you are), make sure you slap enough silcone both sides. Many a transoms are getting getting wet thru those bolts

Re: Question regarding twins removal
John
Maybe I spoke to soon I know the single engine lowers do go through the baitwell so I thought that it would also apply to twins because of the width of those baitwells. I don't think there is enough room underneath to get a wrench.

Re: Question regarding twins removal
I'm thinking they go thru there as well but I can't get down deep enough to find out...
Ed - there is a tarp on it and there is no drain for the box. The rest of the boat where it drains is pretty dry - just that livewell box. This is how it's laid out (photo courtesy of Stricks Project )
