Default Teak supplier ?

I am looking for a supplier of teak wood at the best price around. I live in Long Island, NY, but I'm sure anyone can ship to me.

I want to rebuild sections of my cabin door on a 23' Tsunami as well as rebuild the rod holders.

Thx,

Alan

I am also interested in replacing lost rod holders and shelf on 23 Tsunami, do you have a set to pattern from? Let me know as I do not have them, and would like to replace. Thanks Fins

I have had good luck with Guy Pike @ Houston Hardwoods He got me a new peice of teak for a leaning post rod holder section at what I thought was a great deal, I am not a wood expert though.

Why not Starboard.. last forever, no oiling and sanding. It's just like wood, you us all of the same tools..I redid my splash-well gate on my 19 with it and its great. It comes in other colors too

Don-

I actually replaced the starboard with Teak.

Starboard is great stuff but I needed a touch of wood, not too much though.

Thx Trayder for the info. I'll check him out.

FINS - I have the original rod holders. I am not ready yet to do this part of the job, but when I do remove the holders - I can stencil them for you if you would like.

Hey Marc - Thx for that glass !

As for teak wood: I do not let it become a lot of work. I never oil it ! If you look at some of the nicest offshore, charter fishing boats i.e Montauk fleet, many of them do not oil and just let it go 'au natural.

I have been maintaining teak on my other boat by cleaning w/ salt water and lightly scrubbing across the wood grain - it cleans fast and EZ - and it looks great !

As for starboard - there MANY places where I will be using that on my boat. That stuff is great and if routered and finished right - looks great too.
