Default WHAT ABOUT THIS IDEA....

On a 20 cc would it be alright to close in the transom and mount the O/B on a bracket?
My concern is that the boat is to small for this and will be doing a wheelie in the water. Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks

Bimini thats exactly what im planning on doing with my 69 20 cc I have only seen a few 20s with the bracket in photos and one on the highway. There are photos on boattraderonline.com of a 20 w/bracket for sale in Conn. that shows the boat in water. The boat does seem to sit low on the stern, but you cant really tell if thats because of a lack of flotation on the bracket or if the boat is being throttled. Anyways Im going to put the bracket on and see how it works out

MY OPINION IS NOT TO BRACKET A 20 i HAVE A 20 WITH THE SUZ140F ON THE TRNSOM AND IT RIDES NICE I FIGURE LIKE ITS SUPPOSE TO, IF YOU SET THE MOTOR THAT FAR BACK YOU'D CHANGE THE WHOLE RIDE AND POWER DELIVERY I THINK. iF YOU WANT THE FULL TRANSOM EFFECT MAYBE GO WITH A JACK PLATE WITH THE MIN. SETBACK THAT MAY WORK BETTER GOOD LUCK OH AND WITH THE ADDED LENGTH AND WEIGHT BACK FURTHER, DONT GO WITH THE SUZ4STRK IF YOU WANT TO FISH BIG DAYS WITH 4-5 PEOPLE AND ALL THE OTHER WEIGHT(CAUGHT FISH, GEAR, T-TOP, LIVEWELL FULL ETC.) COMING IN THE INLET IN A FOLLOWING SEA IT WOULDN'T BE PRETTY JUST FROM MY EXPERIENCES!!

I think I would save the closed transom and bracket theory for the 23'. The 20' is only 19'6" long and a bracket starts to look like the back HALF of the boat when mounted on such a short hull.

That being said, the various bracket manufacturers will be VERY happy to sell you a bracket even if you want to put a floatation bracket with twins on a 10' dinghy
