removing deck from 20 cc i/o
I am in the middle of removing the deck from my 20 cc i/o. and have run into a dilemma. I started by popping out the rivets from the deck joint, and cut from the port gunwhale down to the floor all the way across the stern to starboard gunwhale at the corner of the boat. The reason was because I was under the impression that once this was complete I could pop the deck from the hull to inspect stringers, etc. Problem is that there is something keeping the casting platform from coming free. Does anyone know what I have failed to cut? any advice would be appreciated. --

Re: removing deck from 20 cc i/o
The deck is also glued to the tops of the stringers with polyester putty. sure could be a lot of work removing from the hull/deck joint and lifting out the whole liner. The stringers are fiberlass except for the keel stringer. Focus on the transom.
