Default new parts for old boats

In another thread, a member mentioned that they had to provide a newer hull ID number in order for a dealer to order current SeaCraft parts (in that case, the decals).

I recently called my local Bass Pro Shop in an attempt to order the current SeaCraft transom plate (it has the SeaCraft logo on it) and was similarly asked for a hull ID number. My hull is a 1971 and was not originally assigned a hull ID number when built but was later given an FLZ number/sticker by the state of Florida. To conclude, Bass Pro Shops were content with that number and were very helpful and willing to order the part. Therefore, if your local SeaCraft dealer acts like most SeaCraft dealers tend to, call up Bass Pro Shops and ask nicely - they seem to be more customer service oriented than most independent SeaCraft dealers that we encounter

I believe that you have a good point. This is actually my second set of emblems that I have bought. The first set was bought from my local Bass Pro and had no problems. However when it came time to purchase the second set, that Bass Pro no longer was carring Sea Craft.

I think any Bass Pro can order them even if they don't stock the boats - they OWN the brand.
