Hey, Twin Engine Guys?
How many of you use "Transom Saver" when you trailer your boats?
I am hearing from Tracker Marine and Bass Pro Shop that they thought the reason my transom is falling apart is becasue I don't use transom savers to haul the boat 100 yards from the shed to the boat ramp. BTW- I plan to send a link to this to Tracker Marine Group, so hold the BS to a minium. I would also like to know what type of boat you use and what power you have on the back. I trailer 60 miles 45 times a year plus one trip 200 miles per year for 2 years no transom savor and now cracks. The old boat did the same thing for 19 years and no cracks. That sounds like blame shifting to me.

I have a 2003 21' with a 200 merc and last year I trailered probably 1500-2000 miles back and forth to the beach which is 45 miles from home. The roads are fairly rough but I did not use any type transom saver. I put it in the tilt position down tight against the lever. I have had no problems at all. However this spring I made some pvc pieces to fit over the 2 pistons so I can lower the engine to a more vertical position. I did this only because I felt in the long run it may be easier on the transom. I plan on keeping this boat for a while and figured every little bit may help. I have owned 3 Seacrafts and am very disappointed in the way they are handling your problem. They need to step up and take care of this. News travels fast in todays world and not handling a problem like this will cost them many times over. Good luck.
