Interesting article.

I don't like the idea that the Seacraft is "tired". After all these years, I have seen few boats that are better designed for open water.

But, it is good to see that the name will continue with a very positive direction.

With the $$$ behind their Corp. plus their distributing arm of their retail locations & direct mail business along with two of the most name recognized boat manufacturers in their pocket and now a location that could really produce their lines of boats efficiently they are sitting on a potential GIANT ACE in their retail success story. I hope they take advantage of this and make both SeaCraft and Make the companies they could be with the proper direction, marketing, and manufacturing. I wish them the best for all of us that love their boats.

Thanks for the great link. After all this time of hearing and seeing negatives from Tracker/SeaCraft, we finally see some movement in the right direction for them. I would not be surprised if they have been monitoring this site VERY CLOSELY and indeed paying attention to the "street" regarding the dis-satifaction with Tracker's management of SeaCraft.

But like most large corporations, things fall on deaf ears. I'll bet somebody "stepped-up" and brought all this BS to Trackers attention and insisted that there was opportunity to re-new these venerable names (Mako and SeaCraft). We've all pitched in, I think. Good for them. But as was commented, we'll see what happens... [img]/images/graemlins/cool.gif[/img]

The first step should be to stand by their products, go along with the Coast Guard re-call and return some honor to the SeaCraft name. I saw no reference to this problem in the article. - PF

They same group is still in Springfield...as long as they are the warranty issues will continue!

BTW- One of the names in the article has been involved in my boat.....and we know how thats going!

Here is what I posted on the THT;

I'm sure they can fix their manufacturing problems in NC, but the root of the problems lies in Springfield. When you have a problem its how you handle that problem that really speaks for your company because everyone will have a problem here and there.

Personally I really like my boat, it just happened to be one of the ones that had a bunch of problems. What really rips my butt is the way they chose to handle it...or should I say not handle it.

Until they make a major shuffle in Springfield they will always be a Tracker Product that they will try to use every loop hole to deny warranty or the work will look like it was done by guy who was holding a card board sign yesterday. As I understand it they are not even stepping up to plate like they should with the USCG recall.

Thats pretty sad!

This is just like politics...they say what we want to hear and I can't believe that some of you have fallen for this BS smoke screen. Real change would have been to take care of CaptnC and comply with USCG issues.
As in politics you've got to look at their record and their actions of the past not what they say now. What has Trakker done right? The cancer is at the top. They might be able to build a better boat but MO is still in control.
What good is the SEACRAFT name if there is junk out there that is going thru the used market. We like our Classic cuz they were made to last but have you tried to get help from the current owner of the brand. Think of the brand loyality that could have been created had they worked with us and stepped up to the repairs. My Dad used to sell SC in Ct. but dropped the line due to the lack of quality control. These new guys have to recognize the problems address them and show the boat buying public they are serious.
It has been interesting reading about Mosely and the seacraft history and the Potter mystique that have both helped create the CULT that we are all apart of here. We have really cool boats but we look for certain years...too bad every year isn't desirable. IMHO the line will die unless there is a change at the top.
Needless to say this has made me mad that something that I love (I currently own 2 SCs)is heading down the drain. I feel better now Dr.....I guess my time is up

The ironic part is that they probably could have paid for Capt C's boat to be repaired 4x over with the ammount of money they spent on a PR agency to put together this filtered press release.

The reality of the situation is that the coast guard has a recall out on some of their boats b/c the construction is so poor. If construction isn't Tracker's number one priority then the company will suffer warranty claims and lawsuits till the end of it's very existance. I'm glad that Seacraft MAY be beefing up the staff, but I wouldn't expect things to change much.
