Hi everyone,
I am new to this board and am interested in learning about restoring a Seacraft. Over the years I have seen these Seacraft boats and have always thought they had fine lines, design-wise. I stumbled upon this site while looking into building my own boat and thought why not look into restoring a boat instead. I believe I can build a good, seaworthy boat but it would NEVER look like these Seacrafts I see on your website. If anyone can direct me to any resources (books, websites, etc.), or offer any tips that can give me direction in this I would appreciate it. While I have no experience in boat restoration I am a welder/fabricator and have designed and built many complex assemblies (in steel!), from stairways and landings to forklift attachments and spreader bars used in overhead lifting. Thanks in advance. Jim |

Welcome!
There is a ton of useful information on this web site and equally useful people. For my 4th boat, I purchased a 1978 23'SF SeaCraft in February. It definately needs some work, but it has a great ride and lines. In addiiton to this web site, there is good book out there called the The fiberglass boat repair manual. Also, if you go to west marine, there are some great repair material put out by west systems. Good luck, and let the people on this web site know what you are planning to do.

Welcome to CSC Jim!
I see you have pretty much decided on a SeaCraft, "Good" now your Hooked like the rest of us First off (as "Fellow-ship" will also advise you) stock up on beer by the case Second you need to decide on what size and model SeaCraft your going to want to redo. Determine your favorite activity such as fishing , Crusing or family boating, diving or beaching the boat etc, Now you can go on the hunt for a Cuddy Cabin Model, A Center console, Outboard or Inboard / IO. The SeaCraft line has all these models in either 20'or 23' versions. Good luck in your search and keep us posted
