Will you be staying in Fair Haven?

If so, I got to get you out my 23' for bass, weakies and fluke.

Also, possibly some mudhole dolphins.

Peter

AFFIRMITIVE!!! Yes I will be staying in Fair Haven. Arrive Friday, the 7th, 2 p.m.. Hang around all weekend, til Tuesday the 11th, up to Brooklyn for a party at a bar owned by a FDNY survivor. Stay at his house and leave for the Cape on the 12th. Return Tues., 25th, hang around til following Tues., the 2nd.

Sat., the 29th, Long Branch Ice Boat Club hosting second annual "Thunder on the Shrewsbury". Birthplace of Jersey Speedskiffs. Raindate Sunday. senti-MENTAL value will not be in attendance unless Part I pulls it north. But I will be there! Possibly 40 skiffs.

That gives me about 7 fishing days in Jersey the way I see it. Hope the surf is Hot! Can't freakin' wait! Let me know what works for ya. Will have cash for gas, bait and adult beverages! Thanks. Mike.

Mike,

Are you still coming up by Friday? I am thinking of going bassing at first light right next to the working clam boats (that in itself is worth the trip) off of the tip of the hook, followed by some deep water fluking. I just got to check with the admiral at home.

Please let me know if you are interested in coming.

Peter

Peter, barring any distractions, I should arrive Friday at 2 p.m.. Have no real plans. What are you thinking? Saturday? 843 816 1516. Michael. I will be on-line Wednesday eve.

Great

We will chat tonight. The only possible bummer is that it looks like it is supposed to get pretty snotty over the weekend. They are calling for 4 to 6 footers in the ocean (and that usually means something worse).

Any possability that you could get out Friday PM (say 3pm or so)? Just a thought.

My boat is located at Raritan Bay Marina in Keensburg (should be easy for you to find).

Not a chance Peter. Leaving 3 a.m., driving 775 miles, have a few well deserved adult beverages, and then board a boat? Most do it in 12-13 hours. I've done it 10 hours and 10 minutes. I don't play. However, best case scenario, I'll be west of Jackson by 1:30, and done. Thanks for thinking of me. Best opportunity would be Monday if weather should blow through. Or Tuesday, pre-911 party in Brooklyn. Otherwise, on the flip side, Sept. 25th. I hope we can put something together. Who knows, I may get thrown off the Cape after just a few days!

You know what they say...

Company is like fish, after three days it STINKS!

Mike,

OK, now it looks like it may be ok Saturday am, with a blow starting later in the day (who really knows at this point?)

Here is my tentative plan. Leave the dock at 6am on Saturday. Since dead low is around 12:30pm and I can't get back into the marina at dead low, we could either have to be back by 11am or come back around 2pm (I can do either). If it is not too rough we can start the day by drifting clams on the false hook (by the working clams boats). From there we can try some fluke and seabasss fishing in the Shrewsbury Rocks/Sandy Hook reef area.

What do you think? I will supply all the bait and tackle(plus a 23'SeaCraft). The boat is located in slip 14 at Raritan bay Marina in Keensburg. My cell phone number is 973.896.4322.
