Default Bow Well thru hull Replacement

Last time I took my 18' out I noticed the bilge pump cycling more frequently than normal. I suspect the front well thru hull is leaking between the hull and the liner. I have a plastic / marelon "press fit" thru hull in there now and the 5200 around it seems to have a gap.

What has everyone replaced these with? I would like to replace it with a bronze fitting but I dont see how that could be done without cutting a hole in the well. Am I limited to replacing it with either brass tubing and / or the plastic one I have now?
