Does anyone have any experience with a 30" suzuki 300hp on there 23' seacraft with a bracket? I have found a good deal on this motor, just curious if anyone sees a problem with this?

I think i'm going to settle with the 250 suzuki. 300 may be a little more power than i need. everyone is telling me that a 25" shaft is what i need. so i guess i'll be going with that

Doesn't this really depend on where the bracket is mounted?? I have a 25" shaft on bracket and it wouldn't hurt to have it 5" higher on transom requiring a 30" shaft. Maybe some experts could chime in here.....

If you install a twin engine bracket and install a single engine you would use a 30" shaft motor

Preference would be 30 Inch shaft 300 zuke on a Hermco twin engine bracket.

I have a 25" Suzuki 250 on a Armstrong bracket. It seems to work well. I have a sceptre with a large top, 150 gal gas tank, and a lot of gear. The 250 pushes it just fine.
Cruise at 4300 rpm, 29 mph, 11.7 gph with full load. The 300 uses the DTS controls, which in my case would of added almost 3k to the motor. That is why I went with the 250. |

That was my reasoning as well for not going with the 300. What is your top end speed with the 250?
