Default Transmission

Hello...I am a new member and just purchased a 23' Seacraft Inboard. The problem I am having is it came with a MS4A Transmission. I have taken it to the shop and they are tellimg me it needs $3500.00 worth of work. I have found a velvet drive transmission and was wondering what it is going to take on switching over to this. (i.e motor mounts,, lining it up with the shaft) If anyone on here knows anything any tips or suggestions would be very helpful

Thanks Dustin

Thank you for your response. But I am looking for any info someone might have on switching over from a Volvo Transmission to a Velvet one. With doing this I am told that I have to change motor mounts and line it up to the shaft. Has anyone ever done this and what is the best transmission out there for what I am needing.

Thanks in advance if anyone has some insight on this.

You might want to post the question on the hull truth web site. web page

There are a lot of inboard people on there and your problem is not necessarily a Seacraft issue, but transmission issue.
