Default Is this a good deal?

Looking to buy this almost complete 23 Seacraft. I have attached a couple of pics below. Please give some advice. I love the older seacraft looking for a project boat like this.

Depends on the price......
$1 = Good deal!
$4000 = Not today, even with a trailer.
The beauty is is in the eye of the beholder.

See ya, Ken

BTW: Welcome to CSC, and tell us a little about yourself,
like where you live etc, etc...

He is asking $3000 for it. That's not a normal stringer set-up is it? I am from Beaufort, NC had a 1972 Mako 22 that was redone w/ bracket and Yamaha 250HPDI loved the boat but had to pick my days to go offshore. Love the deep-vee on the sea crafts.

That is the normal stringer set up for the 23.
If the price includes the trailer, offer $2500.
You would be be doing good at that.
The 22 Mako does NOT even come close to the ride.

Good luck, Ken

Like Ken was saying that is the normal stringer set up for the 23 sf however it has been raised a couple inches. It would be nice to have the inner liner as it would make your life much simpler as you try to finish the boat. If he has the liner then you will have to cut out the floor to make the liner fit then set your liner back in place... then set the floor on top of the stringers and then tab the floor to the sides of the liner.

If he does not have the liner then you should consider coring the sides of the hull and make it a flush deck from bow to stern...a coffin box would be cool up there. Lots of work this route but then you will have a really cool seacraft.

This would make a good boat with some work. I would make the deck flush and like strick said put in a coffin box!! I redid a 23' a couple years ago and hate I had to sell it but have a '77 20'MA that will undergo a refit next winter. I had another 20'SF that I sold to a guy in Atlantic last Friday.
I have seen this boat for sale and would not pay his asking price. Make him a offer and go from there. Let me know if I could be any help, I live in Sneads Ferry right now but I am from Morehead and go visit the family all the time.

Is there enough room to put a under deck storage up forward if i went with just the flush deck and still have room to put the coffin box. This would be my first project how much would it cost to do it myself and a professional? Ball park. I know it needs a new fuel tank, engine bracket, new floors, and center console.
