Default HIN Identification Assistance (1987 18 SF)

Hello All. Need help deciphering actual manufacturer of Vezo, Part I's 1987 18 SF. Hin is SICF8100B787. Original/ previous owner led to believe it was one of the last "Potter Built". Not sure if possible, but interested. Thanks to anyone who can help.

With a limping 1995 rebuilt Johnson 150, and newly discovered fuel tank leak, we are assessing true value. The original 47 gallon aluminum cell has a pitted opening on top nearly the size of a pencil. At approximately $10/gallon, do we want to try and remove and replace ourselves. Any information appreciated. Has anyone been able to slide console forward enough to gain access without complete removal? In the initial size-up stages. Thanks. Vezo, Part II.

'85 18' and was able to do the same. Console slid to the side pulled deck plate then tank. 47 gallon tank was only 8 in. deep so it came out easy.

Having a hell of a time pulling the fill and vent hoses because of the foam under the fish box. Have cut two access holes and still cannot cut away enough foam from the fill hose to move it.

Hope I'm not too late, but, is it possible to get any pictures of the fill tube and/or what's in there? My filler hose is beginning to look aged and I'd like to be better prepared when the time comes to replace.

Uncleboo-

I will try a picture or two tonight. But... imagine the fill hose surrounded by foam from 4 inches below the cap to the front of the tank. And you have no access to it.

Uncleboo, you may not have foam problems, my 78 had a molded chase(glassed into the bottom of the deck) that was a breeze to pull hoses thru. only problem was the tank connection access. I ended up putting a 8" round inspection plate to access the tank fittings in the future.

Interesting, I don't have any foam in the areas your referring to. I think there is just a thin layer on the bottom and sides of my fishbox.
