Awlgrip - where is it safe to spray ?
I need to spray a boat with Awlgrip, and lost my buddies factory to do it in. Is it safe to spray outside in a neighborhood - I'm worried about overspray; cars neighbors houses, etc.

Re: Awlgrip - where is it safe to spray ?
The 454 primer won't be a problem. It dries so fast, the overspray is a powder you can sweep up. The top coat is another matter. I sprayed mine inside, so I can't say with certainty what distance is safe for the top coat. I would think at least 25', but some of the other guys with more experience may have a more accurate idea.

I'm not sure if anyone mentioned it, but here on LI with the way the humidity settles out of the air every night, you will definitely want it covered. I basically built a tent over mine, but I was only doing the deck.

Re: Awlgrip - where is it safe to spray ?
I hear'ya. Last time I sprayed I waited for the weather report to be perfect. Then I sprayed the 545 outside and then built a large oxygen tent out of huge sheets of plastic within an industrial building and sprayed away. Came out great.
I asked an auto-body guy I know if I could use his room fopr a few bucks on a Sunday, but he said that his room is not set-up for something like Awlgrip... |

Re: Awlgrip - where is it safe to spray ?
Your gonna want to spray it inside or under a covered carport of sorts because bugs and debris will get on the wet paint and then your not going to be happy.
