gill bracket ?
When closing in transom . Has any one tried to use gilbracket to shift wait of ob so water goes out the scuppers and not towards the cabin ? If so how did boat handle when in reverse?

Instead of the traditional 'gill' bracket most guys go to a more beefy flotation bracket. Here are a few options.

boat is bow heavy now. wont added flotation make boat more bow heavy

Even the floatation bracket changes the C/G because of the wieght of the motor.
That's why I am filling my walkaround transom and going to a bracket. In other words the boat ends up being longer and you have less flotation in the motor area. The transom is much larger and deeper then the bracket. Good luck. Mike

i know boat will look much better w/trnsom closed in and safer plus will get a nice livewell outa the deal.just hate the water runing foward hope it will solve that problem aswell. any good pics out there of boats w/brackets in the water? would like to see how one sits at the dock.

Here is a link to a you tube vid. At the begining there is a good shot of my 23 with an armstrong bracket sitting at the dock. Check out the fish cleaning table on the transom. I have a fish box under it and some shorter legs so it does not have to be so high up if I am not using the fish box. Just an idea as you design yours...
