Default Help me figure out my boat (livewell)

So my 78' SF has a rear live well (i think) but when I bought my boat it came with a cooler type external live well. Dont really like it since it takes up deck space which is already limited. I tried using this livewell setup once but i think I burnt out the pump because it dosent want to work anymore. I honestly would like to get the original one working as well as add in a wash down. Whats confusing me is the proper plumbing that should be done to get what I want to work. I am pretty new to all this so bare with me. I know I would need a special wash down pump to get the whole washdown idea work.... right ?

Here are some pics of what I got going on right now. Sorry if the pics are a bit rough to see I dont have a real digi cam to take nice pics like most of u ......

Original livewell

And whats inside...

Livewell pump (I think?) which I think is burnt out?

this is where it pumps water to via the clear tube

Other random pics of the bilge set up.... I think the float switch is broken also because the bilge pump only works when I hit the switch and not on auto....

I really wanna get the livewell working and tidy up that mess in my bilge are so I am looking for suggestions for you pros on what to do because I am pretty lost lol

the livewell in my 73 is somewhat the same. it has a thru hull inside it with a inlet pump. then it has a outlet pump mounted up high to an above water thru hull outlet. both pumps are wired to run at the same time.

I figured I would just bump a thread I already had insted of mainking a million other ones...... I'm looking for some help on how to change out the float switch for the bilge pump. It seems that my Rule Super Float switch is dead because the bilge pump wont work on auto just powered on directly. I figured I would just change the switch and the bilge pump as well (better safe than sorry). But I guess they are attached to the hull with some epoxy or something ? How are these removed and re installed normaly ? Obviously this is my first time at any of this stuff so any input would be very much appreciated....

mine are attached to a starboard pad and thats glued to the bilge. some one on my 20 screwed the float switch to the bilge but the screw they used went al the way thru the bottom. i just dont like drilling holes in the bottom of the boat if i can help it. since you have a rule pump it un snaps off that red base so you can change it out pretty easily. while in there id add a second pump. cant be too safe
