fuel tank placement - 23 center console
Hi Guys
When I replaced my tank a few years back I intentionally move it forward a few inches. I cant remember how much however but it appears to be about 4", but I'm not quite sure . The trouble Im now having is the deck will not drain and water now sits forward when its at the dock! I can get it to drain when I stand on the transom and I weigh 200 lbs. Can anyone give me a suggestion about how far aft I should move the tank which by the way is 96 long and when full holds 131 gallons. Thanks Dink |

Fuel tank placement
Come on guys(and gals)! Does anyone know how to calculate how far aft I need to move a 96" long 131 gallon tank That I usually run half full to transfer 200 lbs to the transom?. I incorrectly moved the new tank 4 inches forward in an attempt to stop the boat from being too stern heavy and now the CG is too far forward. Thanks Rich

i can not imagine 4 " is having that dramatic of an effect? I had a 23 , notch transom, 200 2 stroke, i rebuilt it , moved console forward @ 5" , had a 80 in rear and a 40 forward where front storage box was, i did have a drainage problem when the rear tank was near empty and the forward was near full. Are you sure the console has not been moved forward also?
I currently have a 23 , floatation bracket, 225 4 stroke, 100 gal tank pushed as far forward as i can up to the front storage box and wish i could go further. Are you running a 2 stroke or 4 stroke? |
