Default 25" Transom to 30" Transom questions--for twin engine

I am going to rig my 23 Tsunami with twin 175 Evinrudes.
My transom is currently a straight 25".
I will have to raise the transom 5" to use the 25" Shaft twins....correct????
Has anyone ever raised their transom to 30" for twins...or shoud I use jackplates ..any help or feedback is appreciated!

Thanks for the input guys...
Don..I will have to go to Lowe's..I am not allowed back at Home Depot
Questions:
-Would 2 jackplates work ok as a temp fix or will it put too much stress on transom?
Was thinking of going with something like this pictured..or should I just bite the bullet and raise transom?

-Cost of jackplates will probably be more than cost for me to buy materials and raise transom...thinking out loud
Transom is solid as a rock now.

-Any pictures of 30" transom jobs?

Hey Fred, why not a single 300 hp etec? When my brother went from twin 140's on his 23' to a single 250 hp his performance went up and his fuel burn went down. He did have to go with a 30" shaft on the single though.

I like the Depot for lumber and Lowes for hardware. They let me in both!

Gille..I have been looking around for 20" shafts ...I am not going new due to finances....so looking at good used motors...cant find a matched pair of 20" counter rotations anywhere
Don....I am STILL debating ..just able to get a great deal on these twins

Fred,

Are you saying you can buy a pair of 175's for LESS than a single 225 or 250? Don't forget to factor in the 2X cost for controls, cables, wiring harness, batteries, gauges and fuel filters! If it's set up for 20" twins, a 25" single would also eliminate need for a transom mod!
