New Boat? Pictures Please.

Don't get the wrong idea...I do like my 21

That being said I am looking for another project. However this would be a utility boat that I could leave in the water small horse power and maybe no bigger than 17 feet.

I had a Carolina Skiff at one time, but the pound in even minor chop was awful .

I like the idea of a tiller boat, but open to any suggestions. I mean even a small bayliner could be converted...into something cool. I think "Big" did something at one time but I can't seem to locate it.

So if any of you out there have any pictures post them here so I can get some ideas, and maybe start looking for some derelict hull out there.

17 Seaway. It is probably too far to pick up mine, but this hull was kind of common 30 years ago. I think they are worth keeping an eye out for. I think 40hp is about right. We have a 55 Tohatsu, and it is plenty. They are light, basic boats, with reasonable freeboard.

The new 18 is a different design.

I think Bigshrimpin converted a Vagabond 14 puffer to a pot puller for his E.Rocks.
I think a Redfisher like Blue Heron suggested would be good for putting around inside through your locales skinny water stretches. Another thing would be a Carolina Dory of sorts

Not sure what it is. It was the second boat I ever owned and I put endless hours on it. I had a 1980 3cyl Johnson 70 hp on her and she would fly. We could even wake board behind it. Not so sexy looking but rides good and a ton of room. It had a new floor in it and transom as well. I was going to take off the windshield and mount a center console in it and think it would look nice that way. You could even make a new windshield for it too, I saw your handy work on the 21'. She dose ride well, I have had it in the ocean and many times in the Pamlico sound. It dose not pound, turns well and dose not draft much water. I had it in some bad situations and never got in a bind. A little love and care she would make a nice little run-a-round!
