Default Scupper mod with float ball check valve

For a 1999 seacraft, what is the best mod.
Add a scupperball check valve to prevent water from coming in when boat is heavy with fuel and adults or upgrade deck drains which I have never seen before.

Anyone have a good easy fit/solution?

Thanks

I made some flapper check valves by cutting a piece of 3/4" copper tube about 3"long.
I made the flapper by cutting a finger off a 7 mil nitrile glove and putting it over the tubing, and holding it in place with some wraps of electrical tape.
It fits snugly into the scupper holes. It allows water to drain out,but prevents it from coming in as the finger part collapses acting like a duckbill stopping the flow in reverse.
90% of the time they work perfect, preventing water to come in when two of us are in the back netting or fighting fish(23' Tsunami).
It's very low tech, but works surprisingly well and is extremely low cost.Every once in a while you have to replace the finger, but gloves are cheap. The whole thing may cost around $1.00.
I used copper tube, but stainless would be better for saltwater.

Here's the link to how I made mine.
