Wire run for bow trolling motor in 18 ft SC
Sidekick,
I tried running wire snake from bow to stern but had issues with flotation foam between the hull and cockpit liner blocking the snake. You can see from my pictures on the other thread the deck supports installed perpendicular to the stringers that prevented me from running wire along the bilge. I had to cut 3 holes in the liner to sank running lights from bow to stern. Most of the flotation was near the stern. |

Not sure the year, but mine is a 75. My wires to the bow light run to the back starboard side, and then up the sides. When you get forward to where the rod locker is, you'll have to attach them up along the cap. Yours may be different, but I'm sure some pro's will chime in.

Just had a thought... suppose you cut one end of your bowlight wire, attach your trolling motor wire AND a fish rope, pulled the wires then fished the bowlight wires back and reattach. Sounds easy, but, depends on the size of your wire holes. Good luck!

Gunnel was my route. It was expensive, but I chose 1/0 for the long "run". My batteries are under the console, so I went through console rigging channel to transom and up the starboard gunnel to the bow.

My only option is what 76Red18 did or run the wire between the hull and liner on the starboard side instead of under the gunnel. I was hoping to get away with a much shorter wire run by going straight from the bow to the console instead of going all the way back to the transom and back up to the console.
