Fender brackets
Has anyone used these fender brackets? Do they hold up? My initial concern was strength. My boat is at a dock in Narragansett bay and while it is fairly protected, there are times when it gets a bit bumpy. I just dont want a situation where they rip off or lift out of their brackets, leave holes, boat hits dock, $30 fender floats away, etc. Any feedback? I hate attaching to the bow rail and using space on the back cleat for fenders.

I also use these Perko brackets as cooler tie downs, a few tie wraps and 5/16" bungee cords cut to size and your good to go. I've never has a problem with these.

I would thru-bolt them if possible and use good sealant (not 5200) to prevent water intrusion into the unlining gunwhale wood

Tires are a great plan! Just nowhere to store them while underway. Thanks for the info guys. In the rear I can thru bolt them, up front I cannot. No access to the underside. I dont believe the area I would put them is cored either. Do you thing screws into just fiberglass will be strong enough?
