I would think on the lines of 5/4 ipe (iron wood)
Heavy, sturdy and rot proof. Looks like teak and NO Finish coating is required.

Nice! Those ladders are useful IMO. Mine is a rebuilt original with remanufactured clips by Mitch (Flexpat) and his son.

Ipe is a mighty hard, heavy and difficult wood to work with from my experience.

Looking good! I wonder if anyone has modified the top cross section of the windshield frame. Would be a lot easier to get forward without worrying about the frame.

After bumping your head a couple of times, you learn to duck! I think the crossbar makes the windshield a lot sturdier. Actually, I use it as a hand hold when going forward or returning.

Recently replaced our Pawley's Is hammock supports with 5/4 Ipe. It's not bad to work with.
