The crew I used to fish with limited out 50 miles from HB on Thurs.. ARS so abundant they culled. I was invited as fifth person on Friday. Same spot, worked a little harder, and kept nothing under 20". As the fifth person, I was Bow Boy, but conditions were not bad, and mostly overcast. Came in and fished a lot of numbers, no Gags. Saturday, original crew of four, same spot, nothing under 20" and done in no time. They again came in searching for Gags, and again nothing.

BUT, established on a well known spot, a crew pulls up close enough for words to be had, by a crew of divers. Gets a little more heated and when asked if they were going to dive one gentleman simulates raising a (spear) gun at my buddy who is a Vietnam veteran, and pulling the trigger. Not sure that would have been such a good idea in the woods!?!

Proper etiquette, or just me? I was not aboard on Saturday.

TriumphRick, my new combos worked extremely well. I'm not sure who's ass got kicked harder, but the drag system in the new Toriums, brought a four foot lemon shark boatside at 80'!!! Thank you for your time and knowledge! Hindsight? Should have purchased a left handed for myself.

Zotcha.

Azz holes are not precluded from owning a boat or having an Open Water C-card. Nothing is much more agonizing than running 40 miles just to learn someone else got up earlier and pulled their sorry ass crew together and flat out made it happen before you did. Personally, I give all boats a wide berth even when running on a heading. Is a big 'ol Gulf and people are not out there 30 or 40 miles because they like to be hemmed in with lots of others. The best stuff I have is what I've found (burning paper) going to a known "spot". Lots of bottom off of HB from 18-50' all the way to Cedar Key.
PS the guys I talked to limited out on grouper in 18' of water right off the your house. FWC guys that stopped me on the way in on Thursday said "everybody behaved up there and no problems", so they were absent Friday and Saturday. They did have a Labrador Groupoer Snooper on board. The "Old" guy on the FWC boat was the same age as the Bertram - everyone on my boat was older than his dad and too old for licenses. I think he figured we were "helpless".

Simple solution when I go...
Dive flag always goes up when on the spot !
Even if there are no "divers down"
That 150 ft rule is ignored by butt heads though...

Put the cowl on the cap.
Beeline until they see this.
Wave like white folks that can`t dance.
Gets um off their heading every time.
