Model Numbers
I have a 1972 20' Seacraft Seafari I recently had rebuilt. When they stripped it down they lost the nameplate. Fortunately, I took a picture of it but I can't make out the model number. It starts out 20 XXB. I can't make out what the X's are but the second X is either an O or a 0. The first X may be an S a 3 or a 5. Hard to tell.
How do I find out what the Model Number is? |

I’m glad you brought up this topic. I bought Bushwacker’s ‘72 Seafari last fall. It’s probably the best documented Seafari on this site, or anywhere. I have been meaning to snap a photo of the ID plate before it deteriorates beyond recognition. I think it’s 20X00B. I don’t know if the ‘X’ is an 8, another B or just some symbol but it’s a different size. Sorry for the upside down iPhone photo. I can share a high-res photo if you like.
So, are you going to be sharing pictures any time soon? |

So I stood on my head. That didn't work but one hell of a head rush. Then I turned my laptop upside down...duh.
Still couldn't read your plaque. It's too small and I can't expand it in the format you sent it. Can you send it as an attachment? This is what I have, seems there is a space after the 20. |

Lets try this one. I haven't looked at the full-sized photo until now and it looks like I was incorrect. the model most likely is "20' COB". Probably "20 Foot Cuddy, OutBoard". Here is an older thread discussing a pre-HIN plate on our friend Dogbomb's Seafari that appears to confirm.
