Doghouse/Pilot house build for an inboard
Two years ago I said I would never get a center console after being on a few and getting soaked in sloppy conditions. That changed when I took a ride on my buddy's 25' blackfin with a big cummins and a doghouse and was nice and dry and warm.
I then looked for a classic seacraft after seeing a few out down the cape and listening to stories about how well they perform for a boat in their size class. Well when I bought my 23 it had a t top that after a tuna trip in late September had me wanting the doghouse built and installed ASAP. I built a to scale model out of cardboard and then got to it on the real thing. Here's some photos and I would be more than happy to answer any questions on it. |

Very nice work. Looks good and clearly very practical here in the NE - for those October outings.

Thanks it does just that. Opening day of commercial bass proved it was worth its weight in gold when I set an 18kt cruise home and got off at the dock nice and dry through some sporty stuff

Wynne enterprise out of Alabama. I sent them tracings of the holes and they built them custom. They use a 3” radius on their windows so I used a 6” holesaw to get them perfect. They were more expensive since they’re aluminum frame and clamp in but they are awesome quality. http://www.wynneinc.com

Very nice work. Warm and dry is hard to find on a CC, looks comfy.
Are you going to install the dirt-bike on top? |

Only if I can find one in gold! It’s comfy, I’m debating making a fully enclosed rear with doors and heat for spring and fall fishing tautog and some late season tuna & cod

Yea, looks like quartering seas and wind may get you some from the side. Regardless, it looks like a great place to get out of the spray; major improvement.
