1980"s era 20sf's
I should know this but just wanted to check with the pro's...I think I remember hearing that the later 80"s 20sf's are slightly longer then the earlier Potter era models? I see on the net where some are calling them a 21 rather then a 20. Also I remember something about a hook in the hull...I think that was on a 23 mold. Any thing in particular to watch out for if one was to re do a later 80's 20sf? Sandy I know you have one...

Hook was on the port side Sceptre 23'. After CSY around 1983 as I remember. I don't recall the 20' had changed in length ?

Sceptre Hook
If you search Bushwacker had some posts describing the hook. Don’t think it was on very many.

I have loads of old brochures at my office , but they made a 20 that was a bit bigger than the potter 20...but not a tracker...and they also at one time advertised the MA as over 20. If I remember I look over the brochures later

I second this^ the 80's model hulls were a tad longer, not sure where? but they did end up stretched out just a tad.

Bingo....
Current 2000’s 21 is a cut down 23SF. Over half of the references to a SC 21 currently come from someone rounding the length over 20 on a 20SF to 21.

Now for another question since you've brought up the newer 21...I've talked to several people about the newer 21's being a cut down version of the 23. Yes you can see thats it's way bigger then the 20sf. The question I had was...how was the mold made on the 21? did they simply cut 2 feet off the back of a 23 and make a new mold from that? or has the gunnel height been taken down a bit as well. Anyone ever get a picture of the newer 21 and the 23 side by side? I realize that the interior was changed significantly and would rather not get into that. strick
