Default 23' Sceptre with - without trim tabs

Some boats ride fairly poorly without tabs to keep the bow down etc......

What's the word on the Sceptre ride performance characteristic..." with or without " tabs

I cannot imagine my sceptre without them. It’s a must!! It would be very difficult with a head wind to trim the boat without them.

They make a world of difference. I have tabs on my 20' Seafari, and love them. I don't have tabs on my 18' SuperFisherman and wish I did, even though it's very responsive as is.

For $400, I'm considering adding Lenco 15013 9x9's behind the outer planing surface on the 18".

But because I'm saving to take my family there, it just has to wait until after I go to Israel next May..

Like having two different boats. You will wonder how you ever got along without them.

I have trim tabs but they are broken. I think my Sceptre runs/rides great without them. They worked for years, but I haven't fixed them because I honestly don't think I need them. Now in full disclosure I have a hardtop and crows nest tower which puts 300 pounds up front. Additionally my 23' Sceptre has a light 2 stroke outboard (Yamaha Excel 225) weighing in at a mere 425 pounds. As far as side to side, I move a cooler or passengers around accordingly. No tabs, no problems.

Cruise at 4300 rpms it burns 12 gph at 31 mph = 2.6 mpg

At 5800 rpm WOT I burn 21 gph at 43 mph, so a little over 2 mpg

Real light with a tail wind, maybe 2.8 mpg

What WOT speed you getting ?
Not that top speed is a goal, but it is a good measure of how well the boat/ motor are set up. I've heard upper 30's most typical.
