Default 1982 23 Seacraft splash well what to do?

What would you do after cutting the splash well? In other words how would you best use that space, close it off, built a live well up from the floor, would you close up the existing floor live well, what would be the least costly and simpplist thing to do at the stern. Taking out that splash well create any structural problems, what was the purpose of that splash well? Thanks for answering these questions.
