Default An amazing ride with Steve aka Flying Time

Some of you may be familiar with Steve aka Flying Time. He is a gifted designer of hulls and
a protege of Carl`s. He designed a prototype/ proof of design concept for the Tribute 37.

The Tribute 37 did 87 mph with trip Merc 400Rs before the pipe work.
Just amazing!

The name of his company is Cross Step. He incorporated the VDR with just a few twists
and turns and a little spice. A mighty rad Gumbo it is indeed.

I believe he is working on his second patent for the design.

The design includes steps athwart and the longitudinal steps we are more familiar with
here at CSC. The design is also vented, but is unique to my eye.

25 ft. and has a beautiful barrel back with a wonderful vintage lake racer sheer line.

Steve came by the Jensen Bch gathering Sunday morning. He had been torturing me
with the promise of a ride for a while and I was Sandy excited. That`s a lot for those
who may not know me.

There were tight white caps littering the ICW and off we went into the rainy ditch.
She is powered by a G1 250 HO ETec.

Cold molded 3 mm cedar diagonally planked and glassed over. We saw 63 with fuel and us
pilgrims, but that is hardly the story here.

We call it "The Ride" on CSC and boy oh boy did she deliver. She got on top and just sat there with nary a whisper of complaint or fuss. Just solid and soft at the same time.
All of a piece comes to mind here.

Steve thought she could use a tad more weight aft, but I was none the wiser.
She felt perfect to me.

Thanks Steve!

I think I have 4 very short videos in the rain trying to get the I Com.
Very fast and wet, but I am still grinning. Video quality 0.
I was mostly trying to stay in the boat at speed.

So does this mean down the road, there will be a Cross Step 25' coming to the market,
which will have Seacraft genes and history in the blood line? a 23 on steroids?
Sandy is this creature currently in embryo stage?

The running surface will be under some big name Sporties.

The bottom is under the current Tribute 37.

The 25 is a one off.

I almost forgot. She held plane at 7 mph!!! Flat.
I did see 6.9

I`ll review the short vids again, but i think they are unwatchable.
There was a lot of high frequency bouncing and rain.

Steve has a video of the 37 being chased by the 25.

That video is much better.
