I have owned and used her seasonally since 2004. She is in great shape and well maintained. If youre looking for a Tsunami, also known as a Sceptre, this is a clean example. This description and pix (to follow ) tell the story. If interested - get in touch via PM. If you're on this site - you know about these classic hulls. The ride, center of gravity with the i/o and Bravo 3 drive - is simply amazing in every sea condition. If some say an outboard in this hull type rides and performs better - I don't believe it. Search my username and you'll learn as much as you need to know about this boat. $19,500 Transaction ID: 1E950601CD161344T |

I understand ! We old guys are all faced with the same dilemma .....
Old age is upon us and trying to justify getting rid of our prized possessions and not burden our relatives with what we have acquired over our life time of enjoying what we do is a big problem. One word. NO ! Keep it until you can no longer do it on your own..... Capt. Chuck agonized over getting rid of his beloved "Shellback" 23.. Trust me I get it. My 1970 20 SF has been in my daughter and son-in-laws possession for the last 4 years, with the stipulation it will never be sold, and only to stay in the family forever. My 15 year old granddaughter loves the old "NoBones" which makes my day every time they use her.. Happy to see it gets used more than I have the will or the time to enjoy it. I can still borrow it anytime Patti & I want to... Need I say more. Title is signed, but still in my name, called right of survivorship.

For what you are asking for the boat you are basically giving it away...That big teak swim platform is really nice I'd take it over a fiberglass one day in and out...The hard top..is worth $$$...but if you are tired of the boat then thats another thing...up sizing or down sizing? it would only make sense to me if you were downsizing...Crazy what people are paying for small boats these days.

If looking to downsize, I've got a nice 20' Sceptre I'd be interested in trading towards it. That looks like a well sorted rig.

Well. I think y'all would be proud of Alan. I was all set to buy this beauty and he decided he loves her too much and can't let her go. He came to his senses!

Soooooo...
The short story. I just couldn't do it. A lot went through my brain. The things that persisted: The hull - is in great shape. For a 45+ year old hull, she looks great ! My engine and drive - are perfect and run great. I know them since day one. I restored every inch of this boat and know what I have. There's no other boat I covet (not at all) at this point of my family-raising, life. A replacement boat is stupid $$$ She does everything I need well; beach, fish, get home in all types of snot, simple I love the ride. I must publicly apologize to Basketcase - I added depth to his username. He was patient and understanding. Never met him, but damn, he's the guy I'd want to sell my boat to. Cool dude. I'm just sorry that he had to join me on this roller coaster ride of my realization that.. ' I'm not ready to sell her..." If there is a clean 23' Tsunami/ Sceptre out there and you know about it, please reach out to him 1st - he's deserves a nice one ! So, for now, you guys are stuck with me ! |
