Default Re: 115 HP motor on a 20' ?

Go with the 200. First reason, IT'S BADASS! You will probably get 52-55mph(just a guess) out of her. You will be able to swing a big prop slowly thus being easy on gas. Wouldn't it be nice to run the 200 at 3400 rpm for 30mph than the 115 at 4500rpm for 30mph? A friend of mine, bigshot on this site has a 20' hydrosports with a 225. Trust me, it isn't "scary". Raise your transom to 25" and you won't regret it.
If you get crazy, I can hook you up with a 2002 suzuki 4 stroke 140 for about 7 grand.

I have read alot of post's on raising the transom. If your transom is solid, and you are going to repower, is it worth raising for a 25 inch shaft motor, performance wise that is?..or better yet close in transom and add motor bracket?
