Default Columbus Day Regatta

Once again, the Columbus Day Regatta is quickly coming up , October 9th - 11th!!!!! Biscayne Bay Florida!!!! Mark your calanders!!!!!

Thought you might get a kick out of this. It was posted on the Regatta website under "Crew Needs".

"We have 4 people who would like to crew on a sailboat. Two women (babes) & two guys. The guys have experience sailing the girls do not, but are very athletic."

I wonder what they mean by "very athletic"????????

Don't WORRY You'll know where & what to do when Ya get there ! Actually between the Sand Bar & Gov. Docks at Elliot Key.Should be from 4-600 Boats ? Don't take the Lil' Ones !!Wear Your Glasses. The "LAW" is really tough now so things have changed. If Your gonna drink beware that Your being watched & will be pulled. They(LAW Coasties & Marine & county) had a couple of barges last year . Other than that Kinda like Mardi Gras You Gotta go at least once !

Well, well, well, we have a "virgin" fort he Regatta!!!

Botapeje,
I personally splash at Black Point but, unless you get there early, like no later than 10ish, plan on waiting to splash about an hour, yes, you read that correctly. You can splash at Homestead Bayfront, Key Biscyane, Matheson, etc. If you know where Sands Cut and Elliott Key are, then you can find the Regatta, it is hard to miss. I go out on Saturday, though, if it is a really good time, I will go back out on Sunday as well but, that is rare for me since I am usually recovering on Sunday. I splash around 10 and come back in late on Saturday night, though this year, I may spend the night out there since I know many people going this year and they come up from the Keys and spend the night, so, we shall see. I plan on making my usual 500 plus jello shots, and no, I don't drive the boat anywhere for a while. We bring the floating cooler with us and come back occasionally to refill as required. If you wish to hook up with us, just let me know, more then happy to have you come along. Like Capt Brad said, this event is not for the kids.....

Oh, and I am looking forward to tasting some "planters punch" this year as well, something one of the guys at my office makes, who happens to sail in the race. I often wonder how he makes it back the next day.....

Sounds like a hell of a lot of fun!!! I usually splash at Bayfront Park and know the area you mention. I have an excellent digital camera with a 24X ZOOM, think that's enough??? Anyway, I see what I'm in for, I'll be contacting you guys as soon as I'm in the water, what's your call sign?

The question that fans ask Jimmy Buffet the most is Jimmy were is "margaritaville" He responds, you'll know when you get there? The reggata is margaritaville... it's all about the cutties...
