Re: leaning post options
Yeah, thats him. The leaning post is nice. The only thing I did was run some 4200 on the inside seem (undreneath) of the cushion to pull it together nicely. You may have to do the same thing. Other than that you cant beat it for the money. It is costing me more to install it than it did to buy it, but the guy I am using to install it is filling in the pedestal holes and making custom plates to for mounting to the deck. Good luck!

Ray is the man! I have no doubt he will come through for me. You need to deal with this guy for all of your welding needs. Sounds like a very straight up guy.

Re: leaning post options
Welder
The post you made for me is great but I want to give you a few constructive comments: 1. Use a full length stainless hinge (36")rather that the 15 " aluminum one you put on my post. I've already had to replace it after two trips, to the tune of $25. bucks. 2. Whatever white paint you used on the storage box, throw it away , buy a few cans of zinc cromate and prime and paint it correctly. The members here for the most part restore their boats to a beter than new condition, demand top quality and will pay a bit more for it. Dink |

Re: leaning post options
As always I appreciate and value any input to make my product that much better. However, a stainless steel hinge is going to do more damage than good. Contact between stainless and aluminum creates electrolysis, causing aluminum to blister ruining the product. This is why we keep the aluminum to stainless ratio to a minimum. As far as paint is concerned i agree with you, and we now use "Awl Grip" which will never flake off. Once again your input is very valued and as always we thank you for helping us in our quest to create a fishing masterpiece.

Re: leaning post options
It's cheaper here: http://wolfwire.com/tefgel/Tef-Gel.htm
There are only about 3 places you can get it. Don't even bother asking for it in one of the marine box store's. They will just look at you funny. |
