Default Winner & Loser ...

My daughter and I fished the Saugus Fox Hill Yacht Club Striper Tournament this last weekend.

Sophia is 5yrs and won 3rd place trophy for kids under 12yr with a 33" 12lb striper on Sat!!!!

Dad, well ... picked through many shorts, then finally a decent 36" ~18lb striper at 2:55pm on Sun, weigh in closes at 3pm ... loser anyhow ... (winning fish were in the 25lb - 29lbs)

At this age they will tell you every detail, what color tube, worm size, how many colors of lead core, speed, temp, depth ... you name it ... it does not stop ..

Her hands are glued to that trophy and as a good fisherman/woman asks me where is my trophy?

See ... it starts early!! Need to fish up or shut up, i am speechless .... but a very proud daddy!!

Get them out there early, it is the best!

Great pics Nick and congrats to your daughter. I can't wait for the day my little girl and I get to go fishing together. She's only 3 1/2 months, so we've got a little ways to go.

Congrats to Sophia and I hope she always beats Daddy!

3 and 1/2 and she hasn't fished yet??? I started taking my boys out when they were 3 and 2 years old respectively, even on rickety old aluminum boats on lakes and ponds. It's never too early buddy, take them out and fish for an hour or so until they get bored, then keep taking them back for longer periods until they're the ones waking you up early to go fishing and you're the one asking for another "30 minutes"!! You'll love it!!

Oops, didn't notice the MONTHS! Must be the old eyeballs acting up again! Someone should make a BABY EINSTEIN fishing video for babies that age! Ha!

I know! With 3 grandsons, 1 nephew and 1 niece I've also watched to whole collection a few times! I think we could make some money here, maybe even a whole $5.00!!!

Congrats Nick. Thats the way to do it. My kids are 7 and 8 and I've been a little hesitant to take them out on the big water but now you have motivated me!
