Now hold on a minute. Back in my much younger days, we used to shot little bluefish off Alabama, a pound or two. Darn good eating as long as they were fresh. Kinda like mullet though, oily and go bad fast.

Better balance, less recoil, quite, durable... The list goes on. I have used every style of gun out there and they all kill fish, but a well made wood gun is a joy to shoot. Think Browning Citori....

Conner, I am good with bluefish myself, especially smoked. Rather thick bloodline in the center and skin but if trimmed properly and fresh it is a great choice.

Everything Moose said. If you are tank diving, there is nothing better, especially if you have the kind of wonderful custom trigger mechs that he does.

I can make a good case for a lighter, more streamlined gun if you are freediving. The difference is drag and inertia is considerable and begins to wear on you after a long day. I shoot a sling, the ultimate in light weight and low drag. Can't even imagine dragging a wood gun around for 5 or 6 hours. Still, lots of very good freediving spearos use wood guns

Browning makes spearguns??? Fraid to look at the price.

Some tank but mostly Hookah I hope. I just love hookah diving.
