Default Thoughts on 200hp E-tec HO on 23' CC

I have to replace a 225 evinrude that was on my sea craft 23cc. I found a used 2013 e-tec 200hp HO for 3k, it has 410 hours. Does anyone have any experience with this engine on the back of a 23' sea craft? I don't know what the lack of 25hp will do for the fuel economy and performance. I also really can not compare it to the 225hp because it failed the first day i went to use the boat after I bought it. So any input would be great thanks.

That is a stupid price.
Big Shripms may know a good dealer on the cape who can pull history and run pre purchace testing.

Pike in Essex may be the best rude shop in the area.

Go over to etecownersgroup.com to ask questions.
You must have SN and MN to register.

I may have interest in that pig if you pass.

We need more info. Comp? Service hist? etc.

Plenty of power.

It’s a friend who’s selling it. I actually have a computer some where that I can hook up to it and check it out.

Default All In!

I second The Sandman's notion. if you decide to pass on that, I am all in, no question, no hesitation.

Ship Shops in Yarmouth has always been great to deal with and has worked with Etecs for many years. Worth a call.

Thanks for the responses. I think I will try it out, hope it’s a decent match for the boat.

Buy it, if you don't like it, you know you are stopped out with plenty of buyers on this site. But for that money, you can't go wrong.

sick price. Basically the same as the 225. I know of one on a 23 Sceptre and it does fine.

I've got a 2012 225 ETEC on my 23 Sceptre and its plenty powerful for my purposes.

I'm not a holeshot/full throttle guy, just a family cruiser.
She gets up on plane plenty quick, and will putter along at 26 knots (pretty much my top end comfort zone for the fam) for hours.

Is that one of Eric Sobran's motors? Hermit got a 250 Ficht from his brother in CT. Eagle Marine in sagamore is the largest evinrude dealer around here. Be prepared to wait a few weeks for service. It's a BUSY time of year.
