Ron,
I assume you mean the 23 Sceptre? You're going to find the unfinished bilge beneath those seats. Since the space is outboard of the fore/aft stringers, the space will not be very deep. Depending on the size/location of your fuel tank, you might be able to put something down the center. I'm lucky because my '82 has factory storage boxes beneath each seat.

Scotts right, And even that space my be filled with foam. I never opened up my 23 there but theres a layer of foam in my 20. I wouldn't mess with it.

Ron,

I was just snooping around my 1975 23' Sceptre and was wondering if there is sizeable storage space in the cabin, right as you come in - to the left and right, near the side of the hull. The liner is boxy and seems to be fairly far from the hull. I had visions of being able to cut out a box and install a samll cabinet of drawers there ?

Anybody in the know ?

Alan,
If you're talking about the left and right sides just inside the cabin door down low, you'll probably run into the stringers. We have an inspection plate in the floor in front of the head for bilge access and while running some wires a couple weeks ago, I reached up towards the side you are thinking of and hit the stringer. There's only about 3-4" between the side and the stringer.
