Default Rocky Racoon...

The list of things to do on my 1975 never seems to end, including a near sparring match with a big ol' racoon that was attempting tp take up residence under my console I was buffing my T-Top and saw something moving on my deck out of the corner of my eye, and Mr. Racoon was making a bee-line for my console as I had removed the hatch to get some work done the previous weekend.

After defending my territory with flailing arms, he eventually went on the deck of an old Pacemaker adjacent and took refuge in the beat up salon. A mutant "critter catcher" was called in, complete with hair net and rotten teeth to catch the roque, she of course bungled the job and he scampered away.

The entire marina staff of course was now involved and no work was done for the rest of the day as this event was worthy of an extended break and early happy hour as the story was told over and over with the arrival of each new person.

I remained the only person working on a boat for the balance of the day. Somehow, Im sure I'll be billed for this.

Most racoons around here are rabid these days- I'm scarrred of em. Glad you got him out !!! Just last week (true)A friend of mine from work hit a big ol buck coming to work from the outer banks a couple of weeks ago and totaled his car. Now the road from Nags Head to Va is pretty deserted at 0500 during the weekdays. The locals residents scanners picked up his call to the police and came hauling butt to his location only ask Skip where was the deer. He pointed to it but it had been run over by a tractor trailer and a dump truck so there wasnt much left. The locals (looking dissapointed) got back in their pick-up and went back home. (never asked skip if he was allright until after he had explained about how that buck was in so bad a shape. Hope I never get hit by a truck on that section of roadway. (next time or if any of you guys go down/up to the outer banks(Oregon Inlet , Hatteras) on rt 168, just hold that thought.
