I would be interested in seeing that. Our prop guy said different and also thinks that a 16-17 wheel is to big for that boat and will stress the engine too much....I'm not really buying that. I'm on the hunt for the 16-17 now and will try it for myself.

What type of top end speeds are you guys getting as well?

Mile Offshore, thanks! I printed that out and will be sending that over to my prop guy. Thanks again for the help and I will post performance numbers once I get the new prop.

hey rip - a lot of the prop guys think the smaller inboards only have 1:1 gears (a lot do). if that was the case then yes- a 13:13 or thereabouts is the right size to use. a 1.52:1 that seacraft used is a different animal thus the bigger wheel- good luck- look forward to hearing your numbers- mine were back up in the begining of this thread 21 to 23 knots at 3000 rpm's burning ~ 9.5 to 10 gph. craig

The boat is 100% complete now that the 3 sided eisenglass enclose with wings has been put on but.....I still have a power issue. When we re-powered, we kept the same trasmission and guess what, it's a 1:1 gear ratio. Does anyone in the MA area have good used 1.52:1 transmission for sale? Or anyone know where I can buy a rebuilt, or new one for a good price?
